A firestorm has erupted in Monrovia, California over the presence of Planned Parenthood at a middle-school fair promoting mental health with many parents saying the nation’s largest abortion provider doesn’t belong on campus.
KABC is reporting on the dustup which has caught fire on social media among parents of students at the Clifton Middle School in Monrovia. Many were shocked to find out that Planned Parenthood had a booth at the fair where they provided students with information on puberty, healthy relationships, birth control and STD prevention.
In a statement, Monrovia’s superintendent said, “we were not alerted that Planned Parenthood would be participating” and that they “understand the concerns our parents have about having this organization on our campus.”
This is actually good news. It proves that in spite of Planned Parenthood’s well-funded public relations effort to present itself as a provider of more than just abortion, it’s years-long record of covering up for sexual predators, bilking Medicaid, trafficking in body parts from aborted babies, and issuing abortion quotas their clinic managers are pressured to fulfill, has finally caught up with them and tarnished their reputation enough to make them an unwelcome guest in many American schools.
Which makes perfect sense. Should any school be inviting an organization on campus that is currently under federal investigation for serious crimes by the U.S. Department of Justice?
But of course Planned Parenthood responded to the furor with their usual disingenuous drivel. “We are deeply committed to partnering with parents, schools, and community organizations to educate young people and their families, in alignment with the California education code, with information and resources that help ensure their safety and well-being.”
Thankfully, not everyone was willing to drink the Kool-Aid.
“I’m not thrilled with it. I’m not happy, but unfortunately we have a huge generation of children that are not being parented and they’re learning on their own or from other kids,” said parent Linda Ramirez.
KABC’s Facebook page exploded with similar comments both for and against the presence of Planned Parenthood at the fair.
Typical with debate in this era, any parent who voiced concern over their presence at the fair was dismissed as a “Trumptard” or told to “get out of the dark ages” by those who mostly believed that because children are sexually active at young ages, why not educate them?
Those opposed to their presence were mostly concerned with why they don’t want their children educated about sex by the nation’s largest abortion provider and why the school didn’t notify them in advance of Planned Parenthood’s presence at the fair.
However, I noticed that one commenter stunned everyone to silence when he wrote: “Any religious organizations allowed to participate that promote abstinence until marriage?”
Of course not! Only an organization that disguises the promotion of promiscuity as “sex education” the same way LGBT activists disguise the promotion of homosexuality as “anti-bullying” programs was permitted to attend this health fair.
Thankfully, Monrovia Unified School District has promised to change their protocols when it comes to inviting groups on campus and to have greater oversight over the materials provided to students.
