Forgiveness

August 23

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.  For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.”
-2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Today’s Reflection:
During the Deepening Phase of forgiveness, an individual often feels called to “give back what he has learned.”  This is not only a loving and compassionate decision but a cathartic one as well.  It helps to reinforce the meaning and value of our suffering, and it also encourages us to let our suffering be a source of consolation for others.
How can your personal testimony be a beacon of hope and a light of faith illuminating the way to forgiveness through Christlike love and compassion?
