It’s time to meet the team that makes Women of Grace the impactful apostolate that it is!
Today we’re featuring Erica Segovia, our Benedicta Institute for Women Outreach Coordinator. We hope you enjoy learning more about Erica from her answers to the questions below.
1. How long have you been on the Women of Grace team and how did you begin?
“I began as a facilitator for the Foundational Study in 2011; I was inducted as an NM Co-Regional Coordinator in 2017; and hired as a staff member with the Benedicta Institute in 2022. As a young girl, I always wanted to be a missionary, and as a young adult after serving as a Youth Minister, I learned that our youth needed their parents to also be converted and formed in the faith. I began working in other women’s ministries, but found what was lacking was good Catholic education for women. I prayed that Jesus would send me into His missionary field in a woman’s ministry where the whole family would be converted and formed. That’s when I was invited to a Women of Grace study group. The prayer and invitation are what is important here! It is what led me to my work today in the Benedicta Institute Certification for Catholic Women’s Leadership! Jesus is always faithful!”
2. What do you love best about Women of Grace’s apostolate?
“It is a treasury of God’s Grace! As a Women of Grace Facilitator, I witness the Holy Spirit transform the whole family of many of the women I serve. Since beginning with Women of Grace in 2010, I personally have consistently stepped forward into spiritual growth with a thirst that is unquenchable and an education through Women of Grace that is inexhaustible. I am so grateful women have a Catholic apostolate in Women of Grace to bring their concerns, to get their questions answered, and to learn about what it means to be authentic in their femininity. I can’t imagine being without it–I breathe Women of Grace!”
3. What is your favorite devotion?
“Definitely Eucharistic adoration, to sit at the feet of Jesus and to adore Him! I am grateful at my parish we have adoration until 9pm every weeknight. I have learned to carry a spiritual communion of adoration with me everywhere, so I’m always able to exercise this devotion.”
4. Who is your favorite saint?
“I have many favorites through the practice of novenas following the liturgical calendar, studying them and ending with a wonderful celebration of Mass on their feast day. I have to say that my most prayed to and beloved saint is Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus.”
5. If you could have lunch with Jesus today, what would you want to talk about?
“Well, I certainly wouldn’t want to waste a moment speaking, yet I would have so many questions! If I had to choose a few questions, I would ask him first and foremost what I need to do to work towards my salvation and to be with him for all eternity, and then how to love like He does and what it is like to be in the presence of His Most Blessed Mother.”
