While Planned Parenthood is bragging about featuring a mobile van offering “health care” (i.e., abortion, vasectomies, and IUDs) to attendees at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, not everyone is pleased by this tasteless celebration of the culture of death.
According to Fox News, Planned Parenthood Great Rivers of St. Louis announced on X last week that they were sending a bus to the DNC in Chicago on August 19-20 to offer free services. These services include vasectomies, medication abortions and emergency contraception.
As of today, all of their appointments are filled – at least according to Planned Parenthood.
The reaction to this latest Planned Parenthood stunt has been decidedly negative, and not just from pro-life voters.
Author and radio host at 77WABC James Golden was interviewed on News Nation and said there has to be some disgust even among some independent voters.
“The optics are terrible on this,” he said. “It’s not only in bad taste, but what does it say about the party? They’re trivializing it. . . Look at what the critics are saying about this. ‘The democrats are opening their convention with a nod to human sacrifice.’ That’s the way the optics of this looks to Mr. and Mrs. Normal America. They look at this and say, ‘even if I agree, even if I’m pro-choice, this is not something I want to see at a political convention. It’s a terrible look for the democrats. I don’t know why they agreed to allow this to happen at their convention.”
Hayden Laye of Democrats for Life of America was also disgusted by the van gimmick. “This action taken by Planned Parenthood is just totally disgusting in my eyes,” he told News Nation. “We have so much to work for as a party. We used to be the party that stood up for the little guy, for the working class, for the vulnerable. To see Planned Parenthood taking this action at the DNC is truly disgusting.”
The idea of the abortion van definitely didn’t fly on X. The majority of the comments I read on the social media cite were negative.
“A Blood sacrifice to the Democrat gods to bless their convention.”
“Think of all the body parts they can sell.”
“These people are beyond transhumanists, they are post-humanists. They hate themselves and humanity. Keep them away from children!”
“These people are insane. This is disgusting and anybody who is ok with this needs some serious help.”
This may have been a serious stumble in the party’s attempt to attract more moderate voters to the Harris/Walz ticket. According to the latest polls, 7 in 10 Americans oppose abortion after 15 weeks (at most) with just 10 percent of voters supporting the position of leading Democrats that there should be no limits on abortion.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America blasted the van gimmick along with the Democrats’ abortion extremism which will be on full display this week in Chicago. The pro-life organization, which seeks to reduce and ultimately end abortion in the US by supporting anti-abortion politicians, plans to spend $92 million this election cycle to protect life across America.
“The Democratic National Abortion Convention puts the extremism of the Democrats on full display,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “The days when the Democrats insisted abortion should be ‘safe, legal and rare’ are history. From ‘free’ abortion drugs aboard the Planned Parenthood bus, to a draft party platform that uses the word abortion an unprecedented 13 times, today’s Democrats under the Harris-Walz ticket are officially the Shout Your Abortion Party.”
