Loving those who are difficult to love

February 15

“If someone wishes to savor the joy of brotherly love with greater perfection and delight, he must extend even to his enemies the embrace of true love.”

-St. Aelred

Today’s Reflection:

Saint Aelred’s words challenge us to go beyond loving those who are easy to love and extend true love even to our enemies. This is the essence of Christ-like love—a love that is merciful, selfless, and without condition. In loving our enemies, we reflect God’s grace and open our hearts to the peace that only forgiveness can bring.

What small step can you take towards loving those who are difficult to love?
