U.S. Bishops Slam Phony “Common Ground” Abortion Bill

An official of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) says the Ryan-DeLauro bill, the Obama administration’s attempt at finding common ground in the abortion war, is so pro-contraception it might as well be called the “Planned Parenthood Economic Stimulus Package of 2009.”

Catholic Colleges Lobby Bishops to Withdraw Policy Banning Pro-Abortion Speakers

In the wake of the Notre Dame commencement scandal, Catholic college leaders representing some of the worst violators of the U.S. bishops’ 2004 ban on honoring public opponents of Catholic teachings are lobbying the bishops to withdraw their policy.

Gay Activists Could Derail Immigration Reform

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops along with many other Hispanic and Christian organizations have  withdrawn support of a major piece of immigration reform legislation after gay activists inserted language that would afford marriage-like immigration benefits to same-sex partners.

Reiki Ruling Causing Controversy

Reiki practitioners at two Catholic medical centers in South Jersey are shocked and upset after being told that in response to the new ruling by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) calling Reiki “unscientific and inappropriate for Catholic institutions,”  they will no longer be permitted to practice Reiki in those facilities.
