Washington Officials behind Decision to Charge Catholic College with Discrimination

The president of a Catholic college being sued for denying abortion, contraception and sterilization coverage to its staff says the case was originally dismissed by the local office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) but later reversed when it was referred to the nation’s capital.

Bush Enacts New Rules Protecting Conscience Rights

With only a month left in office, the Bush administration has issued new rules designed to reinforce existing protections for doctors and other health care workers who refuse to participate in medical practices that violate their religious or moral convictions.
