Showdown on NY Same-Sex Marriage Law Expected Today

New York lawmakers are expected to resume pivotal talks today on a proposed same-sex marriage bill which is said to be hinging upon satisfying conservatives who want to see adequate protections for religious groups inserted into the bill before they will agree to vote for it.

Beware of “Catholic” Booklet Touting Same-Sex Marriage

Cardinal Donald Wuerl of the Archdiocese of Washington DC is warning Catholics to stay away from a new booklet produced by the controversial New Ways Ministry which advocates “marriage equality” for same-sex couples because it is not based on Church teaching.

French High Court Upholds Traditional Marriage

The usual demand by proponents of same-sex marriage for “equality” fell flat last week as the French Constitutional Council, the county’s equivalent of the U.S. Supreme Court, ruled that there is nothing unequal about upholding the definition of marriage as between a man and a woman.

Cardinal Pell Wins Concession from Gay Marriage Supporters

The Archbishop of Sydney is willing to meet with supporters of same-sex marriage who want him to call off a Church-sponsored campaign against the unions, but on his own terms – first, they must make a public statement conceding that the Church’s opposition to same-sex nuptials is not homophobic and second, they must allow a Catholic married couple to be present at the meeting.
