After the leaders of the Church of England rejected a compromise that would have averted a schism on the issue of female bishops, seventy Anglican clergy have met with the Catholic Church to discuss conversion to Catholicism.

The House of Bishops of the Anglican Church in America (ACA) has formally requested permission to implement the newly created process known as Anglicanorum Cœtibus which will enable all 99 parishes and Cathedrals in the U.S. to enter the Catholic Church.
