Bailout Includes New Restrictions on Drug Access

Tucked inside the President’s $825 billion stimulus package is a plan to create a new government agency that will evaluate new medical drugs and products for their “cost effectiveness” before citizens can get access to them. The job of the new agency will be to determine the best way to “save money and lives” when it comes to costly health care problems such as cancer.

AIG’s Islam Connection Sparks Lawsuit to Stop Bailout

A federal lawsuit has been filed against U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. and the Federal Reserve Board to stop all bailout funds from going to AIG (American International Group) because it promotes Sharia-compliant businesses and insurance products. Using taxpayer funds to acquire ownership of any company that intentionally supports Islamic religious practices violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“We’re in this Together,” U.S. Bishops Tell Lawmakers on Bailout

The chairman of the U.S. Bishop’s Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development has sent a letter to government leaders asking them to consider five key principles during their consideration of the bail out of the nation’s economy.
