Census Reports More Childless Women and Out-of-Wedlock Births

A new report issued by the U.S. Census Bureau shows that more than 28 percent of children born in the year preceding the 2006 survey were born to women who had never been married. In addition, more women are remaining childless into their 40’s, and those who are having children are having fewer than ever before.
