Pope Decrees Plenary Indulgence for Year of Faith
According to a decree issued today, which is the 50th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II, Pope Benedict XVI announced that the Church will grant the faithful a Plenary Indulgence for the Year of Faith which will be valid from the opening of the Year on October 11 until its end on November 24, 2013.

The Vatican has announced that Pope Benedict XVI will grant a plenary indulgence to priests and the faithful during the Year for Priests, which will run June 19, 2009 through June 19, 2010.

On June 29, the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Pope Benedict XVI officially inaugurated the Pauline Year, a year for Christians to listen and learn anew from St. Paul, who he called a great “teacher, apostle and herald” to the world today.
