The case of a 16 year-old pregnant teen from Texas who sued her parents for trying to force her to have an abortion has been resolved with the girl being allowed to marry and carry the child to term.

In another misguided attempt to cut teen pregnancy rates, authorities in the UK are planning to issue condom “credit cards” to boys as young as 12 years old which they can use to pick up free condoms in places where boys congregate – such as football games and barber shops – to spare them the embarrassment of having to visit a pharmacy or clinic.

New data on the well-being of the nation’s children presents a mixed bag of good and bad news ranging from decreased smoking and drug use to increased rates of involvement in violent crime and teen pregnancies among our nation’s youth.
