Only after dozens of deaths and thousands of lawsuits has the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) decided to revisit the safety of newer versions of birth control pills.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the launching of an investigation into oral contraceptives such as Yaz and Yasmin that contain drospirenone after new research suggests these pills increase the risk of blood clots more than other oral contraceptives.
