Benedicta Institute for Women
Spring Online Immersive Course: Who is Woman? The Journey from Eve to Mary
Theme: God and the Human Person
3 equivalency credits
Instructor: Donald Wallenfang, Phd, OCDS
This course will explore the mystery of woman through Catholic teachings and insights from leading Catholic scholars on femininity. Drawing from the works of Gertrud von le Fort, Alice von Hildebrand, Prudence Allen, and, above all, Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, students will discover the essence of feminine genius in contrast to the cultural confusion that obscures the true nature of women today. A journey will be made from the fallen disobedience of Eve to the redemptive obedience of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This online course will take place over the course of five weeks. Participants will read required texts, view weekly instructional videos, respond to weekly posts based on readings, and attend Zoom sessions with Dr. Wallenfang each Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm to discuss insights gained through the readings and have questions answered.
