What I've learned about faith is that in order for faith to exist, we have to have a historical memory, and we have to be committed to storytelling. Because when we have a historical memory of what God has done in our life, this is the whole plight of the Jews. The whole plight of the Jews, when you go back to the Old Testament, and you look at each renewal of the covenant, we're constantly trying to remember how God had been faithful to us, how God came to us. He chose us. He wants a relationship with us.
