WGR11773 - Getting to Know the Parents of the Saints, Part 1
Guest: Patrick O'Hearn
Saints were real people and so were their parents. While sentiment might lead us to believe that their lives were easy and challenges less difficult due to some special dispensation of grace from heaven, the opposite is true. In most cases, the life of a saint, as well as the lives of their parents, were often fraught with difficulties, challenges, and seemingly impossible situations. And it wasn’t that they received some special grace of perseverance unavailable to us, but rather that they knew how to cooperate with the grace given to them and thus find increased strength and deepened faith in the midst of the suffering. What were these hallmarks that, in some cases, made saints of them, and ultimately led to the sanctification of their children? That’s what we will discuss with our guest.
