Yesterday, Father Paul the Sixth Karenga began to reveal to us the dark industry of human trafficking as it has grown and thrived in West Africa. What he shared with us, and will continue to share today, is of grave importance to all of us. Human trafficking is pervasive. It has tenacles in every country, and is not restricted to large urban areas. It reaches into mid-sized communities, villages and towns, resort areas and tourist locations. What can we do about it? Why does it continue to grow and expand? Why have governmental agencies been unsuccessful in curtailing it, and what can WE do about it? We’re going to find out.
