In 2005, the World Health Organization named the birth control pill a category one carcinogen. Simply put, the birth control pill is a cancer causing- agent in the same category of danger as cigarette smoking. Since 1969, the incidence of breast cancer has risen a whopping 178%.
Why does the pill cause cancer? Who is most susceptible? Are there factors that can cause the pill to be even more likely to cause cancer? Who presents the greatest risk? Younger and younger women are taking the pill for maladies ranging from monthly cramping to adolescent acne. But, is the pill all it’s cracked up to be?
