The Bold Magdalene

gracelinesheader “The Magdalene, most of all, is the model St Mary MagdaleneI like to follow. That boldness of hers, which would be so amazing if it weren’t the boldness of a lover, won the heart of Jesus, and how it fascinates mine!”

For Reflection:

"Perhaps at no other time in the history of the Church has there been a greater need for a clear, cogent understanding of the authority of the female person and from whence it derives. In her work, Dr. Monica Migliorino Miller cuts through the chimera put forth by the culture of the day and reveals the source of woman's influence, effect, and power, and why woman can "aid humanity in not falling" and "save the peace of the world." A challenging, hard-hitting, and completely liberating study of the authority of woman!"

Saint Bede the Venerable on St. John the Baptist:St JohntheBaptistbeheading

“His persecutors had demanded not that he should deny Christ, but only that he should keep silent about the truth. But to endure temporal agonies for the sake of the truth was not a heavy burden for such men as John; rather it was easily borne and even desirable, for he knew eternal joy would be his reward.”

                                 ~St. Bede the Venerable

For Reflection:

What am I willing to endure for the sake of the truth – of abortion, euthanasia, stem cell research, same-sex unions? How can I best proclaim the truth of these given my state of life and my personal circumstances?
