“Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let it be done to me according to your word.” ~Luke 1: 38
For Reflection:
Dear Lord, You inspired St. Luke through the power of the Holy Spirit to comprehend the great mysteries of your life, death, and resurrection. Draw me more deeply into these mysteries. Give me light to see truth, wisdom to follow truth, and faith to apply truth. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ Who is the Truth. Amen. St. Luke, pray for me.

Once again the Lord reminds us that our attitude ought to be that of one about to start out on an important journey, or of one who is all prepared for the coming of an important guest. Christian life cannot be characterized by drowsiness and neglect. For this there are two reasons. First of all, the enemy does not take vacations. He is constantly at work against us. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Secondly, no one in love is lethargic and sleepy-headed.Vigilance is proper to love. When one loves another, the heart is always alert, eagerly expectant. Not a minute passes without the loved-one's being on our mind...Jesus asks for our love. That is why He calls us to be vigilant.
