Hidden Sins

gracelinesheader

“When we approach the altar we must,Eucharist Jesus Christ with God’s help, prepare ourselves with all our power, and search into every corner of our souls, lest any sin be hidden therein.”

                                   ~St. Augustine

For Reflection:

If the sin we discover is a venial sin and we are truly sorry for it, Holy Communion removes it from us. Why do I think it is necessary to be as sin-free as possible when receiving Jesus in the Eucharist?  (See tomorrow’s Grace Line for one answer.)

In Conversation With God Vol 2b1153 Daily Meditations Lent and Easter  Francis Fernandez-Carvajal Pb 609 pgs Click Here For More Information. LENT-SATURDAY AFTER ASH WEDNESDAY 4. SAVING WHAT WAS LOST 4.1 Jesus comes as Physician to cure the whole of mankind, for we are all sick.  Humility in order to be cured.

Jesus comes for all, for we are all sick and we are all sinners; No-one is good but God alone. We must all seek God's mercy and forgiveness in order to have life and to reach salvation. Mankind is not divided into two categories; those who are already justified by their own efforts and sinners. All of us need God, every day. If anybody thinks he does not need God he will not be given strength; he will go on being overshadowed by his interior death or his sickness.
