“Meditation is the mother of the love of God, and contemplation is the daughter of the love of God. Contemplation is nothing other than taking delight in the goodness of Him Whom we have learned to know in meditation, and Whom we have learned to love by means of this knowledge.” -St. Francis de Sales
For Reflection: To what extent have I come to know God through meditation? How has this knowledge led me into love of Him? In what concrete ways in my life is my love of God revealed?

"Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking some one to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith" (1 Peter 5:8-9). As a great encouragement to all of us, he adds this: "The same experience of suffering is required of your brotherhood throughout the world" (5:9b)....Be strengthened and comforted to know that you are not alone in suffering and that all of the followers of the Nazarene throughout the world suffer the same things.
