Double Meaning

gracelinesheader

“Avoid those who in your presence are notsee no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil 1 ashamed to make use of scandalous words and expressions of double meaning.”

                                         -St. John Bosco

For Reflection:

How can foul language, sexual jokes and expressions of double meaning lead to sins against chastity? Am I guilty of these? Do I participate even by listening? What effect has it had on my desire to live a chaste life? (Read tomorrow’s Grace line for one saint’s insight.)

LEARN TO DISCERN COMPENDIUM Susan Brinkmann, OCDS 269 pgs  PB INTRODUCTION   PG 1

If more evidence is needed, consult the Vatican's yearbook of the Church.  This is where we find a plethora of interesting statistics about the continuing ministry of Jesus Christ, such as the 400 people who have been raised from the dead during the last 2,000 years or the 100 saintly followers of Christ whose mortal remains were found to be incorrupt after sometimes hundreds of years in the tomb.  Has any other "prophet" been able to make such claims?
