Remarkable not because she lost a daughter to a heinous and violent crime, but rather because she was able to do what Jesus commands us to do, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Mt 5:44). In that devastating and horrible time in her life, she displayed heroic virtue...Though she rarely expressed it verbally, she was seething on the inside...As time went on, however, Marietta realized that she had to find a way to work through these damaging emotions.
