“Yes, let every meal be a prayer, every hour of sleep, every denial of an impulse to overdo things you feel a compulsion to and believe me, you will at one and the same time cure yourself and cure the sufferings of the world.”
-Caryll Houselander
Today’s Reflection:
Let this Lent be different.
If you tend to choose small or comfortable sacrifices, perhaps the Lord is inviting you to something more challenging. If your tendency is to overdo—to work, strive, or give to the point that prayer and interior peace suffer—perhaps He is calling you instead to balance and restraint.
Someone who struggles to eat enough can turn each bite into a prayer. Someone who struggles to rest can offer sleep as an act of trust. God desires a Lent shaped not by comparison or habit, but by your particular needs.
Will you allow Him to direct your Lenten path, or will you resist, convinced you know what is best?
