According to the Daily Mail, UK-based Amethyst Realm is making headlines all over the world after an interview with New Idea in which she reveals that she’s been having intimate relationships with ghosts for the last 11 years and has finally met one “special spectral figure” during a trip to Australia.
'One day, while I was walking through the bush, enjoying nature, I suddenly felt this incredible energy. I knew a new lover had arrived,' Amethyst told New Idea.
Even though she can’t see her ghostly lover, or even be 100 percent sure it’s a male, the connection between them is very real, she insists. In fact, when she returned to the UK, the ghost came with her. They have been together for six months and are still “going strong” she says.
“It's pretty serious. In fact, we've even been thinking about having a ghost baby. I know that sounds crazy but I've been looking into it and I don't think it's totally out of the question,” she said.
She believes phantom pregnancies produce ghost babies that are trapped in human bodies. The reason why these pregnancies never go to term is that women who are impregnated by ghosts just can’t process how this could happen so the pregnancy ends.
“I'm sure there's a way around that - I just haven't worked it out yet,” she said.
This isn’t the first-time around for Realm as far as media headlines. During a previous interview with ITV’s This Morning, she described an intimate encounter with a ghost that she had after donning a sexy negligee and deliberately enticing the ghost.
“It was kind of like a weight, I felt a pressure on my thighs. At the same time physical breath, and stroking,” she explained.
Apparently, Realm was engaged at the time and her fiancé discovered the affair when the ghost showed itself to him in physical form.
“I think it was in love with me too and it wanted me to end the relationship,” with her fiancé, she told the station.
As a result of these encounters, of which she claims she’s had with 20 ghosts thus far, she has lost all interest in men.
When asked by the show’s hosts how she can tell her ghostly lovers apart, Realm said, “You can always feel the difference, it's the same with different humans, they have different energies.”
Realm may believe that she’s cavorting with amorous spirits, but she’s actually submitting herself to demonic entities who are more than happy to indulge her fantasies. St. Augustine wrote about demonic spirits known as a succubus or an incubus who have intercourse with men and women while they sleep. “Many persons affirm that they have had the experience, or have heard from such as have experienced it, that the Satyrs and Fauns, whom the common folk call incubi, have often presented themselves before women, and have sought and procured intercourse with them. Hence it is folly to deny it,” he writes in De Civ. Dei xv.
Augustine believed it was possible for these relations to produce offspring, but not by the demon itself. Instead, the demon would “use” a man for this purpose and then transfer the man’s seed to the woman so that the child born is not of a demon, but of a man.
Scientifically, experiences such as Realm's are attributed to sleep paralysis which is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep and is believed to be caused by motor centers in the brain that are inhibited, thus producing paralysis. During this state, people have experienced dream-like hallucinations.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Christopher French, professor of psychology at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and co-author of Anomalistic Psychology: Exploring Paranormal Belief And Experience, explained that persons suffering from sleep paralysis commonly report a sense of a presence of something or someone in the room.
‘You can also get hallucinations where you see dark shadows or monstrous figures, you can get auditory hallucinations — you hear voices, footsteps — and also tactile hallucinations,” French said.
‘You can feel as if you’re being held, you might feel as if someone is breathing on the back of your neck, you can feel as if you’re being dragged out of the bed.”
Regardless of whether Realm is suffering from sleep paralysis or not, she’s risking her life by consorting with unknown spiritual entities that she chooses to call “lovers.” Regardless of how loving this spirit may seem, the devil is a master at deception and a force against which she doesn’t stand a chance of survival when it decides to turn on her.
