Bill Designed to Starve ObamaCare to be Introduced Next Week

A major showdown is looming on the Hill as House Republicans announce plans to use a vital bill intended to keep the government running past March 4 as a vehicle to launch legislation that will strip the health care law of all funding.
Fox News is reporting that because Congress and President Obama failed to approve any of the annual spending bills that run the government next year, they are now at a point where all funds will run out as of March 4. This situation gives Congress no choice but to vote on the bill that will be presented next week.
The vital importance of this bill is what makes it so attractive to conservatives who intend to use it to strip the health care law of all funding.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) has already said that he expects to see the bill used, "one way or the other" for just that purpose.
This would make the bill untenable for Democrats who still control the Senate, and for President Obama, and an impasse could force a government shutdown.
Thus far, Republicans don't appear likely to cave. Rep. Denny Rehberg, (R-MT) the new chairman of the Labor, Health and Human Services Subcommittee, which controls the purse strings for many federal health programs, is rumored to be planning to offer the amendment.
Another lawmaker, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) said he has already prepared the language that will effectively defund ObamaCare.
