Blatant Bias at CNN Follows Obama Speech

By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Journalist In an effort to convince Americans that President Obama’s address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday evening was a success, CNN announced the results of a wildly skewed poll as evidence that he had won new support for his health care initiative. Under the headline, “CNN Poll: Double-digit post-speech jump for Obama plan,” the network claims that “Two out of three Americans who watched President Barack Obama's health care reform speech Wednesday night favor his health care plans — a 14-point gain among speech-watchers . . . “ The poll, conducted by CNN/Opinion Research Corporation, claimed that prior to the speech,  53 percent of those polled favored the president’s plan with 36 percent opposing. “After the speech, the “favor” number jumped to 67 percent while the “oppose” statistic fell to 29 percent,” CNN reports. Not until the very last paragraph of the story do they reveal that of the 427 Americans polled, 45 percent were Democrat and only 18 percent were Republican. "CNN has no business airing a ‘poll’ that is straight partisan reaction from those already in the can for ObamaCare," said Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center.   "Caveat or no caveat, CNN was dead wrong to run this and on national television proclaim, ‘We have important numbers here.’ It is an embarrassment that their news directors deemed it newsworthy to begin with. This network simply cannot be trusted to cover this hugely important story fairly," he said. © All Rights Reserved, Living His Life Abundantly®/Women of Grace®  http://www.womenofgrace.com
