CDC: More Than Half of All Babies Killed in Abortion are Minorities

black babyAlarm bells are sounding throughout the ranks of minority-led pro-life groups after new statistics released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveal that more than half of all abortions in the U.S. are performed on minority women.

LifeSiteNews reports that between 2007 and 2010, nearly 36 percent of all abortions in the U.S. were performed on black women, even though blacks make up only 12.8 percent of the population. Another 21 percent of abortions were performed on Hispanics with an additional seven percent on other minority groups. This means that more than half of all abortions performed in the U.S. during this time period were performed on minorities.

The scourge of abortion is also claiming the lives of minority women. According to the CDC, black women are now dying from breast cancer at higher rates than any other race.

"Historically, black women had been far less likely than white women to develop breast cancer, but that has been changing in the years since Roe v. Wade," writes Kirsten Andersen for LifeSite. "Now, black women are almost as likely as white women to be diagnosed with breast cancer – especially black women under 40, who actually develop cancer at a higher rate than young white women."

Black women are particularly at risk for "triple-negative" breast cancer which is an aggressive subtype that has been repeatedly linked to the use of oral contraceptives and abortion.

"Taken together, these numbers lend legitimacy to ongoing claims by critics of the abortion industry that abortion businesses are targeting blacks and minorities for 'genocide',” Andersen writes.

She goes on to recount the sinister plans of Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, and Clarence Gamble, the heir to the Procter and Gamble fortune, who convinced black leaders to promote Planned Parenthood in the black community.

“We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten that idea out if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members,” Sanger wrote to Gamble in 1939.

"Nearly 75 years later, 79 percent of Planned Parenthood’s abortion facilities are located in black or minority neighborhoods, and black babies are aborted at four times the rate of white ones," Andersen writes.

Ryan Bomberger, founder of the Radiance Foundation which helps to raise awareness about the devastating effects abortion is having on the black community, accuses the country's black leaders of being "enablers" who praise and help the very people who are seeking to destroy them.

“The very 'civil rights' groups that should be sounding the alarm about this huge disproportionate impact actually partner with the nation's largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood, ensuring this increasing disparity,” Bomberger told LifeSite.

“When more black babies are aborted than are born alive in NYC and the NAACP responds by supporting Governor Cuomo's radical abortion expansion via the misnamed ‘Women's Equality Act,’ one can understand how the targeting of minorities continues unabated.”
