Random acts of kindness are occurring all over the country during this Christmas season, from people giving away the shoes on their feet to the needy to anonymous donors buying entire toy sections to give away to needy children.

Fox News is reporting on some of the best examples of the Christmas spirit beginning with the story of a Kentucky man who gave away his boots in a Chick-fil-A after seeing a poor man come in wearing shoes held together with duct tape.

A witness named Hallie Cassady, 13, said that just as the man was about to go back outside, an anonymous customer stopped him.

"He was about to go back out the door, and the guy just looked at him in the eyes, and he took off his boots and handed them to him," Hallie told WBKO. "You could tell it made the other guy's day and it made my day."

The generous donor then walked back to his seat, in his stocking feet, and began eating his lunch as if nothing happened.

"So, I grabbed his (her dad's) phone and immediately took a picture of the man. I told dad, 'we gotta share this. This is an amazing story to let people know, and it's sorta going a little viral here in Bowling Green,” Hallie said.

Her father did just that, tweeting out a snap of the man’s shoeless feet as he sat eating his lunch.

"As a parent, you always want good examples and role models for your kids,” said Hallie’s dad, Kyle Cassady. “[Hallie] got to see something that you don’t see every day.”

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away in Colorado, an anonymous donor walked into the Fort Collins Goodwill store and bought the entire toy section so that every child visiting the store that day could leave with a holiday gift, free of charge.

Just after the purchase was made, Todd Wakefield, Goodwill’s Senior Director of Retail, announced over the intercom, “All kids today, all day long, you get one free toy, free stuffed animal or free kids book."

According to The Coloradoan, the donor has been making this special donation for the last ten years. He told the outlet that he “does not need recognition for his act of kindness,” as the day has “become an important part of his family's Christmas tradition.”

Just after the happy announcement was made, he and his wife took a moment to savor the sight of the excited children rushing into the toy department, then quietly left the store.

"We've got some amazing people throughout our community," said Wakefield, who works in Goodwill’s corporate offices now but comes back every year for the event. "This is what our business is run on, people willing to give and to help their community."

A Walmart store in Millville, New Jersey was the scene of yet another act of selfless generosity when a “secret Santa” walked up to the layaway department and paid off $50,000 worth of layaway items.

Walmart confirmed the act of kindness in a statement to Fox News, saying the "generous donor" paid off the remaining layaway balances at the store which amounted to paying for the gifts set aside by about 200 customers.

“When customers quietly pay off others’ layaway items, we’re reminded how good people can be," the store said in a statement. "The joy that comes from these transactions extends well beyond dollars and cents. We’re honored to be a small part of these random acts of kindness.”

One of those layaway customers, Kimberly Green, told FOX 29 that she still had a balance of more than $700 for the gifts she bought for her nine grandchildren. Her bill is now paid in full.

"What can you say but thank you, you know? Like I don't know who it is. I'm not trying to find out. I don't want to take that person's blessing," she said.

In spite of the secular media’s attempts to turn Christmas into an empty holiday of materialism and self-indulgence, the true spirit of this season – which is founded upon the selfless love of Jesus Christ – is alive and well.
