The Vatican Press Office (VIS) has just announced that the College of Cardinals have decided to begin the Conclave to elect the next pope on Tuesday, March 12.

The VIS reports that "a 'pro eligendo Romano Pontifice' Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter’s Basilica that morning. In the afternoon, the cardinals will enter into the Conclave."
