How do you handle discouragement?

October 11

“Discouragement itself is a form of pride. I wish, therefore, O my God, to build all my trust on you.”

-St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Today's Reflection:

Thérèse understood that discouragement is very often due to our desire to have our own way, thus revealing a secret pride. How do I normally handle discouragement? Do I become irritable or give way to sulking? Could this be due to my offended pride?

Dearest Thérèse, help me to always remember to call upon God for His help in all of the events of my life so that when things don’t work out as I planned, I have the peace of knowing it was God’s will.
