The fuel that keeps us going

September 22

"I’ll die with my weapons in my hand."

-St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Today's Reflection:

Thérèse was no quitter. Even at the end of her life, while suffering terrible physical pain and in a deep spiritual darkness, she clung to the “sword of the spirit” and let the words of Jesus be her support. What words of Jesus are the most encouraging to me? Why?

Dear Thérèse, you had few books to read in the convent and yet you found all the nourishment you needed in Jesus’ Gospels. Help me to find the same inspiration in His Words that they might become the fuel that keeps me going when I am feeling discouraged.
