Girl Scouts Threaten Life News

One of the nation's premier pro-life organizations is being threatened by Girl Scouts USA for using its logo when reporting on the Scouts' ties with the abortion industry.

LifeNews is reporting that they received a "scathing" letter from Girl Scouts USA (GSUSA) executive Brian Crawford demanding that they stop using the Girl Scout logo on their news stories.

"GSUSA has an obligation to protect the Girl Scout name and trademarks," Crawford wrote in his letter.

He also denied all ties to the abortion industry. "Girl Scouts of the USA does not have a partnership or any relationship with Planned Parenthood, nor does it plan to initiate one."

The denial is disingenuous at best. What Crawford neglects to mention is that numerous councils throughout the United States do have ties to Planned Parenthood - something the national office does nothing to prevent.

He also gives no explanation for the numerous GSUSA printed materials that feature abortion promoters such as Hillary Clinton, Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem as women to emulate. Nor does Crawford mention GSUSA's ties to many other pro-abortion advocacy groups and their membership in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts which promotes the same liberal agenda to girls.

In fact, the new national spokeswoman for the Girl Scouts, Kelly Parisi, is a former spokeswoman for a pro-abortion organization founded by Gloria Steinem, a fact that is also missing from Crawford's letter.

Life News regards this letter as an attempt to intimidate them into stopping their reporting on the link between the Girl Scouts and Planned Parenthood, as well as the very successful "Cookiecott" launched earlier this month encouraging people to stop buying cookies until the national office ceases to promote its pro-abortion feminist ideology to girls.

However, don't expect our beloved Life News to cave any time soon!
