The Most Rev. Ronald W. Gainer, bishop of the Diocese of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has issued a ringing endorsement of the Women of Grace program, calling it a program that has produced good fruits in the lives of women for the past decade.

In a letter sent to our ministry earlier this month, Bishop Gainer praises the Women of Grace program for its rich and uplifting content.

“Women are nourished spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally, and are equipped to answer their unique calling in their homes, parishes, and communities,” the Bishop writes.

He is pleased to recommend it to the diocese and asks for support in promoting the “widespread adoption” of Women of Grace.

We could not be more pleased with this endorsement which came just weeks before Johnnette spoke at the first annual Women’s Conference in the diocese of Allentown which was held on October 22 at The Holiday Inn in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania.

Attended by hundreds of women, Johnnette was joined by Helen Alvare, Professor of Law at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia and a Consultor to Pope Francis’ Pontifical Council for the Laity.

Beginning with Mass celebrated by the Most Rev. John O. Barres, Bishop of the Diocese of Allentown, the day included four sessions on the gift of womanhood, our call to serve, True Devotion to Mary and sharing our gift of authentic femininity.

Johnnette and Helen spoke in depth about the Feminine Genius, what it means to be created as a beloved daughter of God and how we are meant to serve with purpose as we explore the deep truths about our female identity.

“We must keep our eyes focused on the truth so that no matter what goes on with the machinations of man, in our political system today, or in western civilization and its demise as we see it crumble before us, this God of ours is about a great work and it’s His desire that this great work take place through you and me,” Johnnette said.

She went on to speak about the mysteries of the faith, the tremendous value and power of true devotion to Mary, and encouraged women to be receptive to all the graces God wants to bestow upon them in this our day and time.

“You are a mystic by virtue of the fact that you are baptized,” she said. “Mysticism is an entry into the life of God. This happens to you at the moment of your baptism. If you are in the state of grace you in the state of mysticism. Now whether or not you realize this, and cooperate with the grace that is there for you, I don’t now, but this is the other aspect of receptivity, opening yourself up to the interior life, the life that exists within you, by way of the indwelling presence of Father Son and Holy Spirit.”

Attendees left the day refreshed, renewed, and ready to take on the world . . . one woman at a time!
