By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Journalist The pastor of a North Carolina Baptist church has decided to use the occasion of Halloween to sponsor a bonfire in which all versions of the bible – except the King James version – will be publicly burned. According to a report by WTKR TV3, Pastor Marc Grizzard of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, North Carolina says the King James version of the Bible is the only authentic word of God and that all other versions are “satanic” and “perversions of God’s word.” "What we're doing is we're burning books that are satanic,” Pastor Grizzard said. “I believe the King James version is God's preserve, inspired, in erect, infallible word of God." He will also be burning the works of other well-known authors, including Mother Teresa, Billy Graham and Rick Warren. Calling these authors “heretics,” the pastor says the books provide negative influences and should be burned. Also worthy of the flames will be the works of various Christian music artists.
