Police Find Human Tissue in Abortionist's Trunk

Police suspect a Michigan abortionist with a long rap sheet may have been performing abortions out of the trunk of his car when they inspected the vehicle and found plastic jars full of “possibly fetuses” along with abortion procedure equipment and drugs.

LifeSiteNews.com is reporting on the case of Michael Arthur Roth who has been found negligent and incompetent in the state of Michigan, fined, put on probation, and had his license suspended for prior offenses and yet was still practicing medicine in the state.

Police raided Roth’s home on Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield earlier this week after making a “gruesome discovery” of 14 plastic jars full of “human tissue” in the trunk of his car along with medical equipment and large amounts of Fentanyl, a sedative given to women during abortion procedures. The containers were taken to the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office.

Roth had been involved in a car accident two weeks prior to the finding when he hit and seriously injured a special needs child. His car was impounded at the time of the discovery.

During the raid on his home, police confiscated medical "materials" in bags and boxes and went on to search his OB/GYN business as well.

If he was doing abortions out of his trunk, it wouldn’t be the first time the doctor was caught performing the procedure under unsanitary conditions. He was caught performing illegal, at-home abortions in 1998 and 1999.  He was disciplined in 2002 for drug-related violations and again in 2004 for falsifying medical records and violating patient consent laws. Also in 2004, he was caught committing abortions in a bartender’s home and was fined and had his license suspended. A stipulation of his probation was that he would never perform an abortion outside a medical facility again, even though he did so and was fined for it again in 2012.

"Michael Arthur Roth has a history of this behavior,” said Lynn Mills, Director of Por-Life Detroit. “If what is being reported in the news is fact, I don't know how the State of Michigan isn't summarily suspending Roth's license today for the protection of the public and his patients . . . How bad does bad have to be for this government to protect its people?"

Monica Migliorino Miller of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and a Women of Grace® board member, commented: "That Michael Roth would be performing illegal abortions - either in his home, or in the homes of women - shows the despicable, sordid practice that is abortion. It also shows that Roth as an abortionist did not really care about the health and safety of women - as these abortions were not taking place in sterile environments."

She continued: "This is just another sad, sorry story that exposes the dark world of the abortion [industry]… On top of the scandal of Planned Parenthood selling the body parts of aborted babies - and now this! We see the unscrupulous nature of the abortion practitioner - a nature forged in disrespect for life."

Thankfully, Michigan lawmakers passed the Michigan’s Prolife Omnibus Act in 2012 which significantly strengthened oversight of the abortion industry. As LifeSite reports, since that time, 16 facilities have closed, mostly because of substandard practices that were endangering the life and health of women.

Michigan Right to Life President Barbara Listing said "If abortionists and their businesses can't abide by laws and regulations that others follow, they shouldn't be allowed to practice on vulnerable women."

Thus far, Roth has not been charged, and remains a free man.
