According to the IndyStar, the home was the scene of the sensational story that began in 2012 when Latoya Ammons and her three children began to experience symptoms of demonic possession inside their home in Gary, Indiana.
First reported by the Indy Star, Ammons told of incidents inside the home where adults experienced being choked by unseen forces, children thrown against walls who would convulse and chant Satanic verses and walls that oozed a clear odorless oil. The story went viral and attracted the attention of Indiana’s Department of Child Services as well as law enforcement and the Diocese of Gary. Representatives from all of these organizations found themselves embroiled in the case which culminated in the exorcism of Latoya Ammons and the family fleeing the home.
Various TV hosts and producers clamored for a chance to tell the story. One of these, Zak Bagans, host and executive producer of Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel, bought the house in 2014 for $35,000 but it was more than he bargained for.
“Something was inside that house that had the ability to do things that I have never seen before – things that others carrying the highest forms of credibility couldn’t explain either,” he told the IndyStar. “There was something there that was very dark yet highly intelligent and powerful.”
As a result, Bagans had the house torn down two weeks ago and filmed the event for a documentary he plans to release later this year.
