Teen Video Denounces Rising Anti-Christian Sentiment in Schools

A group of teens from an Idaho school who are fed up with the anti-Christian bias creeping into the nation's public schools have made national news by producing a video declaring the time has come to "make America one nation - under God - again."

teens prayingTownHall.com is reporting that it all started late last year when a public school teacher in northern Idaho told students to write a paper entitled, "I Believe," but without mentioning anything about God. Considering this assignment to be an act of censorship, a group of Christian students began asking questions that eventually led to the production of a video that addresses Christian bullying in public schools.

Called The Thaw, the five-minute video is a powerful clarion call to Christian teens to stand up and take back their schools, culture and country for Christ.

In the video, teens ask questions such as "Why can’t I pray in school? Why do I have to check my religion in at the door? Why am I called names because I believe in marriage the way God designed it?”

They give a long list of offenses they are enduring in public schools, from being forbidden to use the name of God in assignments to name calling and bible banning.

“People who do not love our God have stolen our country,” one student says.

"Christianity is being frozen out of the American culture," another says, then adds triumphantly, "But it's time for a thaw. ”

Produced by Reach America, a national organization based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, the video is part of a ministry founded by Gary Brown to form strong Christian leaders among the next generation. After hearing too many complaints about Christian teens being called "bigots" and "close-minded" because of their faith in God, he decided the time had come to take action.

“If you mention anything about Christ or if people know you are a Christian – you get laughed at,” he said.

With the help of about two dozen teens, he produced the film, never expecting it to reach a national audience.

“Churches have shown it in worship services and during youth group meetings,” he said. “It strikes a chord.”
