This Year's Most Profane Christmas Gift: Ouija Board Ornaments

Did you know there’s such a thing as a Ouija board Christmas ornament? Neither did we until someone called into our Wacky Wednesday radio show to alert us to the existence of this profane object.

We were saddened, but not surprised, to find a a website appropriately named “Everyday Lunacy,” where we found a Ouija board planchette ornament that promises to “Summon the Holiday Spirit.”

As the site describes: “Get ready to summon the holiday spirit with our unique 3D-printed Ouija Planchette Ornament! Perfect for adding a spooky yet festive touch to your holiday décor, this ornament is crafted in the classic shape of a Ouija planchette, blending eerie charm with holiday cheer.”

The ornament is guaranteed to “enchant your tree” (whatever that means) and to be a conversation starter for years to come.

Even more eerie is a similar ornament sold by Mystical Zodiac that is an actual, functioning Ouija board.

The site claims the ornament will add a “touch of spiritual charm” to the tree. “Crafted with positive intentions, this ornament invites a sense of mystery and connection to your festive décor. The symbolic Ouija board design adds a unique touch of spirituality, perfect for those seeking a blend of mystique and simplicity.”

It goes on to advise customers to hang the ornament “with intention” and let its presence “inspire moments of reflection” during the holiday season.

“Elevate your tree with this spiritual accent, bringing a hint of the unseen into your joyful celebrations. These make great gifts and altar accessories too!”

Obviously, the only altars these ornaments might decorate are those used in witchcraft and/or sorcery.

It’s bad enough that Ouija boards exist in the first place, but to create versions of it designed to be displayed during a season celebrating the coming of the Christ Child whose life and death brought about salvation and hope to the world is nothing more than a blatant act of bigotry.

The caller to our radio show wanted to know what to do with this ornament which was given to her as a gift. That was an easy answer – toss it!
