An explosive outburst during a court appearance yesterday by Robert Lewis Dear, the man who gunned down three people in a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic revealed not only his mental incompetency, but also his desire to serve as a “warrior for the babies.”

Newsmax is reporting on the hearing which took place in El Paso County court on Wednesday where Dear, 57, was formally charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of three people, along with other charges.

“I'm guilty, there's no trial. I'm a warrior for the babies," Dear reportedly blurted out in a loud voice while seated beside his lawyers in front of the judge.

After the comment, Dear’s lawyer, Dan King, referred to the issue of Dear’s mental competency when he said to the judge, “I think the problem is obvious.”

Dear also turned on his lawyer during the hearing, accusing him of having drugged his famous former client, Aurora, Colorado theater shooter James Holmes. Holmes was reportedly on anti-psychotic medication during his trial in the 2012 shootings that left 12 dead and wounded 70. He was sentenced to life in prison.

“Do you know who this lawyer is?” Dear asked the courtroom. “He’s the lawyer for the Batman shooter. Who drugged him all up. And he wants to do that to me.”

King asked the judge to impose a gag order on participants in the Planned Parenthood case before a trial, which prompted another outburst from Dear.

“You’ll never know what I saw in that clinic. Atrocities. The babies. That’s what they want to seal,” Dear said.

He added: "Seal the truth, huh? Kill the babies, that's what Planned Parenthood does."

The U.S. abortion industry condemned Dear immediately after the attack, using the “attack on women’s health care” mantra to garner public sympathy and raise money, even though police have yet to reveal a motive for the November 27 shooting. The only evidence they had at the time was a comment Dear allegedly muttered at the time of his arrest when he told police, “no more baby parts.”

However, yesterday's outburst and other evidence seems to be pointing to anti-abortion sentiment as the reason behind the killings.

For instance, an eyewitness told police that Dear asked for directions to the Planned Parenthood before the attack. And one of his three ex-wives, Barbara Mescher Micheau of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, said Dear vandalized a South Carolina abortion clinic about 20 years ago by pouring glue into the locks on its doors.

The next hearing is set for Dec. 23. If convicted, Dear could be sentenced to death or life in prison.
