Priests for Life is announcing a campaign of prayer and fasting to end the evils of Planned Parenthood that begins tomorrow and will run through May 1.

According to the campaign's website,  Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life and President of the National Pro-life Religious Council has initiated a special week of prayer and fasting with the specific intention of ending abortion in the United States and ending the evils perpetrated by Planned Parenthood.

The campaign launches tomorrow, April 23, the same day that thousands will gather at Planned Parenthood clinics across the country to pray for the end of abortion.

The primary sponsor of the prayer campaign is Priests for Life and the National Pro-life Religious Council. They are joined by a coalition of 27 national and pro-life groups.

Several prayers have been posted on the site which can be used during this week. These prayers include the intentions of repentance for our nation, an end to the killing of children and the selling of their body parts, healing for those wounded by abortion, conversion of abortionists, and strength and perseverance for pro-life activists.

Because this campaign is an ecumenical event, all members of the Body of Christ are being asked to fast and pray in ways that are consistent with their denomination’s theology and spirituality.

Father is also suggesting that people make a spiritual bouquet such as pledging to pray 10 rosaries, offer 10 Masses, make five acts of sacrifice or make three holy hours.

“Prayer is the foundation of all we do in the pro-life movement, and we invite you to join tens of thousands of others who are offering, each day, a prayer of commitment to build a culture of life,” Father writes on the website which contains numerous prayers to end abortion. “When you pray the various Prayers to End the Evil of Planned Parenthood, you are joining your heart to tens of thousands of prayer warriors for life.”

If you’d like to participate, they would like to know and are asking all participants to fill out a form on the website stating their intentions to do so.

“We must use every chance we get to advance the cause of life, and prayer is our most powerful weapon!”
