Teen’s Dying Wish is to End Abortion

Jeremiah Thomas, a 16-year-old teen on fire for Christ, found out last year that he was dying of terminal cancer, but that isn’t stopping him from achieving his life’s desire – an end to abortion.

LiveActionNews.com is reporting on the story of Jeremiah, an all-star state champion athlete who was diagnosed with osteoblastic osteosarcoma, a cancer that is particularly resistant to radiation therapy and has a survival rate of just 10 percent. Two tumors on his spine have already rendered him paralyzed from the waist down.

But the indomitable teen, who happens to be the son of Rusty Thomas, National Director of the powerful pro-life organization, Operation Rescue, refuses to give in.

“I can still preach from a wheelchair,” he said.

Fighting for an end to abortion was a way of life for him. He grew up visiting the local abortion facility in his town every Wednesday, the day when abortions were committed, to do whatever he could to save babies.

“This isn’t planning parenthood; this is the murder of an entire family,” Jeremiah said outside of a Planned Parenthood. “How can a family stay together when they are murdering their own children?”

Calling Planned Parenthood a “place of death,” he added: “No doubt about it, this is a place of demonic stronghold. Sacrificing babies to Satan himself.”

When Jeremiah was approved with the Make a Wish Foundation, he didn’t use this opportunity for himself. Instead, he asked for a “legacy wish.” Specifically, he asked to have a phone call with Texas Governor Greg Abbott to request passage of a law that would abolish abortion in his state.

His request was granted and the historic call with Governor Abbott was recorded.

“For my wish, I wanted to talk with you and discuss a bill of abolition,” he said. “A recent poll showed that 68 percent of Texans want abortion abolished, so Sir, you’d be representing the demand of Texans if you passed this bill. In conclusion, we just want you to treat abortion like an act of murder and it should be punished by law. For my wish, I just wanted to say that to you […] We could end abortion here now and at least for me, it would make my wish complete before I pass.”

Governor Abbott, who is staunchly pro-life, told him that he had just returned from the state Republican party convention where his wish was discussed.

“Your wish is on the Republican party platform position,” the governor confirmed, “and that’s what we’re going to be pursuing this next legislative session, that is to outlaw abortion altogether in the state of Texas. And so your wish is granted.”

With that news, Jeremiah let out a shout of “Yes!” and then thanked the governor.

“In an amazing act of compassion, Jeremiah Thomas used his one wish to help end the greatest human rights injustice of his time: abortion,” writes Nancy Flanders for LiveAction. “And for that, his impact on the world will live on long after he is gone.”

She adds: “Never underestimate the pro-life generation.”
