Is your life complicated?

September 19

"Lord, help me simplify my life by learning what you want me to be and then becoming that person."

-St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Today's Reflection:

In our day and age, we complicate our lives with a variety of gimmicks that promise to unlock the secrets of our personality or our future, but Thérèse knew better. She went straight to the Source for this information and implored the God who owned the blueprint of her life to show her who she was meant to be and how she might become that person. Have I ever asked God to do the same for me? Can this be the moment to do so?

Dear Thérèse, you knew that the only way to truly find yourself was to do so in the God who created you. Help me to search in the right places for a deeper understanding of who I am and why I’m here by invoking God whose plan for me “is for your welfare, not for woe” (Jeremiah 29:11).
