"Joy isn’t found in the material objects surrounding us but in the inner recesses of the soul. One can possess joy in a prison cell as well as in a palace."
-St. Thérèse of Lisieux
Today's Reflection:
Like so many saints before her, Thérèse understood that one cannot achieve true joy without first achieving peace of soul. When the heart is right with God, everything else falls in place. Do I find my joy in God, or do I seek it in the “things” of the world? What were the happiest moments of my life? Did they concern “things” or people or God?
St. Thérèse, please ask God to give me the grace to rid my soul of any darkness that weighs me down and causes me to look for happiness in all the wrong places.
