Kindness is not for the faint-of-heart

October 4

"Be very kind... it is both an act of charity and an exercise of patience."

-St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Today's Reflection:

Thérèse knew that the practice of kindness is not for the faint-of-heart because of how often we are tempted to impatience during the course of a normal day. With the help of God’s grace, can I try to practice kindness today, from the minute I wake up until the moment I go to bed tonight? How often was my resolve to be kind tested today? Do I need to take this to prayer?

St. Thérèse, walk with me in this challenge to practice kindness throughout my day. Help me to recognize those times when my resolve is weakened and let the Spirit teach me how to rise to these challenges in the future.
