Pro-Abortion Groups Say Little About Shooting of Pro-Lifer

Compared to the outrage leveled against pro-life groups after the murder of late-term abortionist George Tiller in May, pro-abortion groups have had little to say about the shooting death of a pro-life activist whose public position on abortion displeased his killer.
According to a report by LifeNews.com, Sara Edwards, the chief assistant prosecutor for Shiawassee County, Michigan, confirmed that the pro-life stance of Jim Pouillon, who was shot and killed outside a Michigan high school last Friday, is what caused 33 year old Harlan Drake to gun him down.
“There was some displeasure with how open he was,” Edwards said. “He tended to carry big signs with very graphic pictures of fetuses.”
Drake was charged with first degree murder in the Pouillon case, as well as in another shooting that took place the same day.
Pro-abortion groups such as NARAL, Planned Parenthood and NOW, who reacted with outrage after the murder of George Tiller, have little or nothing to say about the shooting of a pro-lifer.
While Planned Parenthood, NOW, and Emily’s List have not responded to media calls for comment, NARAL president Nancy Keenan issued only a brief statement.
“Today’s shootings in Michigan are tragic and our thoughts are with the families so deeply affected by this senseless violence," Keenan said, then pretended not to know that the shooting was ideologically motivated. “Although law-enforcement officials still have not commented on the shooter’s motivation, we understand that one of those murdered today was an anti-choice activist," she added.
Father Frank Pavone, the head of Priests for Life, had this to say about the lack of a pro-abortion reaction: "I call on the leaders of the so called ‘pro-choice’ movement to condemn this killing and to consider all of the people who lose their lives to abortion every single day.”
