As news broke that the al-Qaeda-inspired Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) ordered all Christians out of the Iraqi city of Mosul this weekend - allowing them to take nothing but the clothes on their backs - Pope Francis expressed deep sorrow and compassion for their plight.
