The Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi

Franciscans around the world – religious and lay – are celebrating the recent announcement of the Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi (1182 – 1226 A.D.). This special time – from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, has been proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV in commemoration of the 800th anniversary of the death of the “Little Poor Man” later this year.

Plenary Indulgence Granted for Participation in March for Life Activities

Aside from being an exciting, fun, and powerful way to witness to the dignity of human life, those who participate in the National Prayer Vigil for Life and other sacred celebrations surrounding the March for Life in Washington DC tomorrow will also have the opportunity to gain a plenary indulgence.

Pope Decrees Plenary Indulgence for Year of Faith

According to a decree issued today, which is the 50th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II, Pope Benedict XVI announced that the Church will grant the faithful a Plenary Indulgence for the Year of Faith which will be valid from the opening of the Year on October 11 until its end on November 24, 2013.
